New for Summer 2021

Standards for All U.S. Camps

  • Parent Information Website
  • Masks will be required at camp whenever local regulations mandate their use. We will not require masks in open-air environments.
  • Campers and leaders will need to pack and bring their own bedding, pillow, and towel(s).
  • Campers and leaders will travel, eat, sleep, and participate in camp events & activities grouped by their cabin.
  • Campers or leaders exhibiting symptoms of covid-19 will immediately be isolated and will need to travel home independently.
  • More events at camp will be in open air spaces. When club must occur indoors, only campers, leaders, and staff facilitating club will be allowed to attend.
  • View full list of New Procedures.
  • We will host 5-day camps for High School trips.
  • Variable days for non-high school trips.
  • YL Connect Camp can be used for registration, payments and trip management tools. A standard registration template has already been added to your YL Connect account and is ready to be customized for your trip.

Camp-Specific

Rides & Activities:

  • While at NorthBay, you'll be able to enjoy a number of activities including sailing, tubing, kayaking, canoeing, climbing walls, zip lines, pool, giant swing, basketball, disc golf, game room and beach volleyball.
  • All cabin rides will have disinfection protocols between rides.
  • Masks will not be required while swimming, but social distancing between cohorts will be in effect.

Guests:

  • To assist in limiting potential exposure, non-camper & leader access to camp will be extremely limited.
  • The Adult Guest program has been suspended for the summer of 2021.

Indoor Spaces:

It is strongly recommended that Campers and Leaders wear masks indoors especially if they are not vaccinated.

If an event is held indoors, the following precautions will take place:

  • Increasing outside air/filtration, seating by cohort, masks for everyone present, social distancing between cohorts.
  • We will assign doors and dismiss by rows, tables, or cohorts to limit crowding at the exits.
  • There will be hand sanitizer stations at every entrance to every building.
  • Additional protocols will be followed for infirmary visits and medication distribution.

Meals:

  • All meals will be served by summer volunteers wearing masks and other PPE with no self-service options available.
  • Tables will be assigned by cabin & cohort and will be spaced at least 6 feet apart to allow social distancing.
  • We will work to minimize the amount of time that campers are in the dining hall.
  • Masks will be required when not actively eating (entering/leaving/moving around).
  • Should a camper or cabin become isolated or quarantined, they will have meals delivered to their cabin in a safe manner.

Housing/Housekeeping:

  • We will limit the number of campers and leaders in each cabin to 12 to ensure social distancing and quarantine space should it be needed.
  • It will be our practice to improve ventilation/filtration as much as possible by opening windows/doors and having fans placed in each cabin.
  • Housekeeping will supervise cleaning of each common space and bathroom every day and will be assigned by areas of camp to mitigate the potential exposure across camp.
  • Cleaning supplies and instructions will be available for each cabin to clean and disinfect cabin surfaces throughout their stay.
  • We will NOT be providing linens this summer. Campers and leaders will need to bring their own sleeping bag (or sheets and blanket), pillow and towel to camp.
  • Between weeks at camp, all cabins will be disinfected and the air will be exchanged by running fans and opening windows for a full 24 hours prior to camper arrival.
