We cannot wait to have your moms and babies come and experience Jesus at Clearwater Cove this summer! To make this experience easier for you, we have created a dedicated YoungLives​ Trip Leader Guide​ that holds the following information:

Childcare Reminders

• Childcare Departure: 3:00 PM CST after nurseries are cleaned and packed and campers have departed.

• Childcare Ratio: For every 5 campers/leaders, the area is responsible for bringing 1 childcare person.

• Childcare Registration has two steps. The first step is to go to the link below and you will find a link to the Childcare Application. The second step, register your Childcare through your YLCC Childcare Trip.

Pre-Camp Checklist

  1. Linens are NOT provided for Wyldlife or Sr. High campers and leaders. Please bring pillow, pillowcase, sheets, blanket or sleeping bag and towel. EXCEPTION: Hard-to-fund areas may request bed packs for individual campers who cannot provide them. The total number needed by cabin can be entered on the 10-Day Form. This is not intended for your entire trip unless there is a need.
  2. Linens​ WILL BE provided for YoungLives​ weeks ONLY.
  3. Wyldlife Camping Toolbox ​ - Whether you are bringing kids to camp or serving on an assigned team, find the tools you need to do both well.
  4. Over-the-counter (OTC) medications - Please encourage campers NOT to bring OTC's to camp. Trip Leaders should NOT bring OTC meds to camp and should NOT distribute OTC medications to campers while traveling or throughout the week. Campers can go the infirmary if OTC meds are needed.

Arrival & Departure/Travel Information

Arrival & Departure:

Schedule your arrival at Clearwater Cove between 2:00-4:00 pm for Sr. High, Wyldlife and YoungLives​ trips. ​ Schedule your departure from Clearwater Cove at 12:30 pm for Wyldlife weeks and 1:30 pm for Sr. High weeks with a sack lunch on the last day of camp​ (after Say-So club). For YoungLives, ​please schedule your departure at 12:00 pm with a sack lunch.

Arriving to Clearwater Cove:

​On Day 1, call the Clearwater Cove office at 417-779-5678 between 8:00-10:00 am. If you depart after 10:00 am please call between 8:00-10:00 to schedule a time and update us once you depart. Please be prepared to provide your final breakdown of campers and leaders, an update on food allergies or special diets, and your estimated arrival time.

Camp Gates

You will receive a gate code for your camp week through a Leader GroupMe. The gate code will consist of # sign and 4 numbers, example #1234. The # must be entered first for the code to work.

GPS/Directions to Camp

Please use the GPS Coordinates, 36.5819129, -93.4710645, instead of our physical address when using GPS to get to Clearwater Cove. Using our physical address may take you to the wrong location and delay your arrival by about 45 minutes. ​ Directions to Clearwater Cove

Please be prepared to turn in the following items at the Welcome Tent

Health Forms — any health forms that were not filled out online. Make sure you have copies for you return trip, the originals have to remain at Clearwater Cove.

Medications — ​ Please collect all prescription medication prior to your arrival; place in individual Ziploc bags and label with the camper's name and area number. All medications must​ be in their original prescription container with the label.​ These will be collected upon arrival and stored in the Infirmary to be dispensed by our medical team. We will collect all medications except​ epi-pens, and inhalers. Please use the attached form for instructions on how to collect and turn in medications. Electronics — All electronics, including e-smoking/vaping devices, need to be stored in a container labeled with your area name/number. It's also a good idea to provide Ziploc bags for each camper and a Sharpie to label with their name. Please make sure all devices are powered off. Young Life's Camp Smoking Policy

 

Contracts(spots), Accountability

Want to see other camp trips in your week? On your camp trip campaign in YL Connect, click the drop-down arrow in the top right and select Camp Trips by Week. This will show every trip at the camp you are attending organized by week.

To request an increase or to trade spots, please contact Danielle Ipock at dipock@cwc.younglife.org. Do not make these trades on your own.

R1 contracts are due Jan. 15th via DocuSign (areas are financially responsible for $50 per spot).

R2 contracts are due April 1 via DocuSign (areas are financially responsible for 90% of these spots).

FAQ'S

Guest on Camp

We are not able to host drop-in guests. We may be able to hosts guests, friends or family during the summer of 2025 if there is an AG hosts on your week. Please contact Danielle at dipock@cwc.younglife.org. All approved guests must be hosted at all times by an AGH, a YL staff or spouse and approved by the camp manager and camp director. Leaders who are leading campers are unable to host.

NEW Adult Guest Program! We are excited to welcome adult guests to our new AGL called the Overlook Lodge. We are currently (Fall 2024) recruiting Adult Guest Hosts for Summer 2025. If you are interested in registering adults from your area at CWC this summer please reach out to Danielle at dipock@cwc.younglife.org or 417-779-5678 for information. The cost is $130 per room per night with a 2-night minimum.

Linens -
  • Wyldlife weeks - Clearwater Cove will NOT be providing linens. Please bring a pillow, pillowcase, sheets, blanket, and towel.
  • Sr. High weeks​ - Clearwater Cove will NOT be providing linens. Please bring a pillow, pillowcase, sheets, blanket, and towel.
  • YLVS week - Clearwater Cove WILL provided linens.
  • Wash cloths are available upon request.
What to Pack

Please review the packing list​ or download it and share it with your campers. Don't forget to review the program letter for your session for additional items.

Weather at Clearwater Cove

Clearwater Cove may have some cooler night the first couple weeks of the summer. We often have some very hot/humid days.

  • ​Drink plenty of fluids and bring a water bottle
  • ​Pack a hat, sunscreen and sunglasses
  • Pack a sweatshirt or light jacket for end of May or begin of June weeks for cooler evenings.

​ Your weather app (looking at Lampe, MO) on your phone should give you accurate predictions for the most part of what to expect.

Pregnant Campers

The following information is true of any pregnant camper:

  • ​ ​ ​ ​ They cannot be pregnant with multiples (twins, triplets, etc.)
  • ​ ​ ​ ​ ​They cannot have a high risk pregnancy (bleeding, preeclampsia, high blood pressure, etc.)
  • ​ ​ ​ ​ ​They cannot be past 34 weeks
  • ​ ​ ​ ​ ​They must have a doctors signature on their health form.

Per the National Young Life Policy, campers who are pregnant CANNOT participate in the following activities:

• Dodgeball / Volleyball

• Ropes / Zipline

Per the National Young Life Policy, campers that are pregnant CAN participate in all other activities offered at camp including inflatables on the lake
