Summer 2025
Trip Leaders, we are grateful for the time and energy you have invested in knowing kids. We are looking forward to serving you at Rockbridge this summer. We have been planning and preparing for you and your campers and cannot wait to create a space where they all feel a sense of belonging and excitement as they encounter the Gospel!
Christ’s love compels us to create a culture of Diversity, Equity and Belonging at Rockbridge, so that we reflect the full breadth of the Kingdom of God and those we serve. A culture of belonging is a core value to ensure that Rockbridge is a place where every person is welcomed, known, heard, respected, and celebrated for the ways they uniquely reflect the image of God. This will be achieved through a posture of listening, learning, relationship, personal sacrifice, and action.
We are committed to this in every effort from the planning of trips, the events at camp, the recruitment and training of our staff and volunteers, and how we serve one another. We are so excited to serve you and can't wait to spend the summer with you!
As you prepare for your trip, please use the information below to plan. This page highlights all of the most pertinent information and resources to equip you for your trip.

Financial Accountability
Staff Resources states the following about Trading Camp Spots:
Areas wishing to drop camp spots can trade those spots away to another area through the camp office.
• Camps will honor trades between areas up until the day before the camp week begins.
• To complete a trade, all areas involved must confirm the trade with the camp office via email. A new DocuSign Contract will be created for each area.
Rockbridge’s policy includes:
Once at camp trips can trade spots for registrants on the YLCC arrival form:
Ex. The trip is contracted (allocated spots) for 20 spots but has 25 registrants on the arrival form. There are 5 spots that could be traded with another area that was under their contracted number.
The details below were put together to be a "one stop shop" for your camp trip. As we get closer to summer, we will continue to update this site; please bookmark the link and refer back to it frequently. If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to contact Matt Hypes: mhypes@rockbridge.younglife.org; 540-997-9276

- Food Allergies/Dietary Restrictions: Please ensure campers and leaders list food allergies/dietary restrictions on their health form.
- Summer Camp Leader Orientation: Prior to arrival, please ensure your leaders have completed the Summer Camp Leader Orientation via Young Life Access. For instructions and more information, please refer to Summer Camp Leader Orientation page on Staff Resources.
- Electronics: Please collect all personal electronics (cellphones, cellular enabled watches, iPads, laptops, DVD players, etc.) prior to your arrival; place in individual Ziploc bags and label with the camper's name and area number and put in a storage bin. These will be collected upon arrival and stored until your departure.
- Medications: Please collect all prescription medications prior to your arrival; place in individual Ziploc bags and label with the camper's name and area number. All medications must be in their original prescription container with the label. These will be collected upon arrival and stored in the Infirmary to be dispensed by our medical team. We will collect all medications except birth control, epi-pens and inhalers. Camp will stock typical over-the-counter (OTC) medications or their generic equivalent; these do not need to be brought to camp. If a camper brings OTC medications to camp, they will be collected and administered along with prescription medications.
- Early Departures: If a camper needs to leave separate from the rest of your area, a completed Permission to Leave Early form (YL-1853) must be completed online before the camper is able to leave camp.
- Campers Driving/Riding in Personal Vehicle: If a camper needs to drive their personal vehicle to/from camp OR a camper is riding to/from camp with another minor in their personal vehicle, a completed Permission to Drive To and From Camp (YL-1854) must be completed online before the camp trip. (Keep in mind that the Permission to Leave Early form (YL-1853) is also required when a camper rides home with another minor in their personal vehicle.)
