Washington Family Ranch Trip Leader Info

Welcome Trip Leaders!
Please keep checking back here for the most up-to-date information.

We are incredibly grateful for the time and energy you have invested in knowing kids. We are looking forward to serving you at Washington Family Ranch this summer. We have been planning and preparing for you and your campers and cannot wait to create a space where they all feel a sense of belonging and excitement as they encounter the Gospel!

Christ’s love compels us to create a culture of Diversity, Equity and Belonging at Washington Family Ranch, so that we reflect the full breadth of the Kingdom of God and those we serve. A culture of belonging is a core value to ensure that camp is a place where every person is welcomed, known, heard, respected and celebrated for the ways they uniquely reflect the image of God. This will be achieved through a posture of listening, learning, relationship, personal sacrifice and action.

We are committed to this in every effort from the planning of trips, the events at camp, the recruitment and training of our staff and volunteers, and how we serve one another. We are so excited to serve you and can't wait to spend the summer with you!

As you prepare for your trip, please use the information below to plan for trips at both Creekside and Canyon.

If you have any further questions, please give us a call (541-489-3100) or drop us an email (wfr@wfr.younglife.org). We look forward to hosting you this summer!

Summer 2026 Information

  • Area Camp Trip Survey - Please complete this no later than June 10th, 2026 As we continue to define and create spaces of belonging at Camp, Assigned Teams and Camp Staff want to know more about the campers and leaders on their session before they arrive. Being aware of the nuanced differences specific to the areas coming each week will better equip Assigned Teams and Camp Staff to create spaces of belonging for all campers.
  • Going Together Camping Pledge - A summer camping pledge has been created to ensure that all participants are aligned on behavior, expectations, and shared responsibilities, fostering a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Every camper and leader will need to sign this pledge before arriving at camp.
  • Medications - Please inform parents that all medications must be in the original prescription bottle. If medications are in a weekly pill box, the prescription bottles must also be sent. This applies to ALL campers. IN ADDITION, we are asking that campers DO NOT bring over-the-counter medications with them to camp. These will end up getting collected with prescription medications and turned in on Day 1. Leaders should not bring OTC mediations to camp with the intent to distribute those to campers. Any camper needing OTC should go to the infirmary.
  • Retail Tabs - This process is changing this summer, we will provide updated information when we have it.
  • Summer Camp Leader Orientation - This is NO LONGER in Right Now Media/YL Access. It's in the Learning Moodle and you can reach the instruction page on the Camp Leader Orientation page on Staff Resources. If you have questions around this, please reach out to the Learning and Leadership department at learning@sc.younglife.org.
  • Updated Wyldlife Policies - Visit theWyldlife Camping Policiespage on Staff Resources to view the newest YL policies regarding Wyldlife camp and campers.
  • Camp Bedding (both camps): Camp will provide 1 pillow, 1 pillow case, and 1 bath towel per person. Please have everyone bring their own bedding and pool towel.
  • Bed packs: Full bed packs will be provided for YLVS campers, leaders and Childcare. Capernaum friends and trips who need to fly to camp. If you are not in the above situation and have a need for bed packs, please email wfr.summeroffice@gmail.com to submit this request.
A Reminder Regarding Controlled Substances:

“As a reminder, use, possession or distribution of illegal and non-medical authorized drugs and/or alcohol is not allowed on camp property or in connection with any Young Life event. Young Life can send individuals home from camp or an event at their own expense and without refund for violating this policy. Young Life may also report violations of this policy to law enforcement as well as to a minor’s parent or guardian. Refer to policy AS-802 for more information.”

A Reminder Regarding Young Life's Attendance and Participation Standards for Expectant Campers, Parenting Campers, and Children at Camp:

Per Young Life's Attendance and Participation Standards for Expectant Campers, Parenting Campers, and Children at camp :

  • All pregnant campers must have a physician's release allowing them to attend camp.
  • Pregnant camps who are more than 30 weeks along in their pregnancy may not attend WFR.
