Summer 2025 Updates

Capernaum campers:
  • This summer we’re introducing a new involvement role for Capernaum campers. To ensure accurate records, all campers with disabilities should be assigned the guest type of “Camper with a Disability” on the arrival form. This update should be made after registration and before arrival at camp.
  • Capernaum buddies should be listed as “Capernaum Buddy.”
  • For detailed instructions, refer to the Arrival Form section in the YL Connect Camp Guide.
Staff Dependent Camp Scholarship Process Update:
  • Young Life provides camp scholarships for dependents of staff enrolled in Young Life's medical plan. This scholarship allows for reimbursement of the fee for one week-long Young Life camp or event per dependent child (natural, adopted, step or foster child under the age of 26).
  • This benefit will be received in the staff person's next available payroll check and will be subject to federal, state and FICA taxes.
  • The requesting staff person will work with their area/trip leader in completing the Dependent Camp Scholarship Application to provide proof of attendance and cost. The staff person will then request payment from Benefits for the cost of the camp fee via theWorkday one-time payment process. The staff person may work with the area/trip leader to defer payment until this benefit is received.
Changes to Payment Options for Retail Purchases at Camp
  • To better support the scale and complexity of our growing mission — internal transfers will no longer be accepted as a form of payment for retail purchases made at camp starting May 1. This includes the store, snack bar, coffee shop, and crafts. Staff and volunteers can use their P Card for purchases or submit a reimbursement request.
